the weekend that was
It was a weekend of extremes.
On Saturday, a day when I could not possibly get more down and sian,
Me and Shiyun signed up for a SAFRA membership.
So... hello treadmills and cool pool for the next 3 mths.
Tis my 3rd attempt to be a gym bunny after Fitness First & St Gregory's.
Third time lucky?
Then we spent the afternoon lounging ard Orchard Rd, checking out burgers and books, CDs and magazines and all of the best indulgences of life.
Aft she left, I was so bored I went to pump petrol.
Don't ask me how it came to me spending millions at Topshop Marina Square later.
En route to meeting pp at Esplanade.
How hopeless can I get?
I was supposed to pass by Marina Square, not go on a mad shopping spree there!
Gosh, Topshop is evil.
Bought 2 tops and a black leather bag.
Don't blame me.
I am May-Topshop-Kek.
And finally, I reached the Esplanade. Like $200 poorer.
Met the whole Rooters bunch for a great nite out.
By the time I arrived, they were wiping clean their seafood feast of chili crabs.
Good thing as well... spare me the smelly fingers and dodgy lime-y washwater.
We headed for Loof at Odeon.
Very overrated rooftop bar, in my opinion.
Gosh, how tiring it is to see young folks in their youthful 20s trying to
look cool, stand cool and talk cool for a few hours.
And forget about service.
The wait staff there was the real spoiler of the nite.
And if I had a dollar for a poserish dress or fake accent, I'd be Donald Trump that night.
Good thing I had great company.
We couldn't bear the posing and headed, ironically,
for a more classy place that was so much more relaxed and laid back.
More our kinda hangout - IntroBar at Westin.
Was my first time at this cool hotel bar/lounge-y place.
It was so much more real.
We stayed there the rest of the night.
I miss my Rooters people.
Love them to bits. Really.
The jokes, attacks, insults, laughter, gossips flowed non-stop.
What a great great bunch of pp I have the privilege to call frens.
I was half the joke of the nite when, with everyone sitting in my yellow mobile,
I almost mistook the deceptive rubbish dump at Odeon for the carpark.
Tis the kinda stuff I'm known for.
And to think that I was in such a sour sian mood the entire Saturday
that I fed thoughts of actually not gog for the get-together.
I was telling myself - Seafood? Urghhhh.
And being in that mood, big get-togethers were the last thing on my mind.
Turns out to be an intimate thing, with just about 7 of us having a fantastic nite.
Sunday was so-so.
Checked out some potential wedding photography location at Raffles Marina with terence and his fren.
Nice place, but the sun was scorching hot. At 530pm!
How can that be?
Is Tuas staring straight at the sun?
Maybe Tuas is where the equator really is.
Kinda impractical, if we were to have the shoot about 3-4pm.
Then had dinner with his entire family at Tanah Merah.
My fave restaurant of all time.
Was a treat before his brother gets hitched to the Russian wife on Wednesday.
Nice time by the coast.
I am getting used to the idea of weekends now.
Yes, i am gog to have every wkend from now on.
I am on a "normal" 5-day 10-5pm job.
Starting to get the groove back.
That's a gd thing right?
