MELBOURNE

PARIS

Was at a friend's photoblog.
Of her travels to everywhere -- Europe, Korea, Japan, NY, NZ.
This year alone.
Yes, looking at those pics sting.

I really think me and Terence so deserve a break.
We went HK, BKK, Bintan and KL together before the pregnancy came up.
I thot we were on to a pretty good momentum.
You know, travelling comfortably every few months and enjoying ourselves without blowing too much $$$.
We are similiar travellers - want comfort, not luxury. Willing to walk a lot. Not too excited abt shopping. Love new experiences outside of shopping malls. Will miss home after a trip.

Then suddenly, we couldn't even go on our honeymoon.
Not even to Bali.
And have been shackled with the baby, the house, money etc etc.

Maybe i'm biased, and everyone else slogs just as hard or is just as deserving.
But I think we are the 2 people ard who really need a serious break.
A break away from Singapore, away from our lives and a break to feel young again.

There are so many places I want to discover with him.
He is a great travel buddy, even if he's not my husband.
He's very adaptable, ok with everything, street smart and very adventurous.
And we usually like the same things and places.

I'd love to bring him to Australia.
He'll love the food for one, those meats and steaks and Western crap.
And the awesome weather.
I'll love the huge open spaces, the colours, the cool weather and the Aussie familiarity.

We've discussed cheaper Asian routes before too.
Vietnam and Thailand's unchartered spots like Hua Hin, Chiang Mai etc.
I am quite sick of getting Thai stamps on my passport, so perhaps Vietnam may be more enticing.

I crave a real holiday.
Not a break at a resort spa or one of those chi-chi things.
We're too young for that.
I yearn to visit Europe, even tho i have serious air-sickness and dunno how I'll ever survive the flights.
Wouldn't it be amazing to be on a faraway continent with my beloved, exploring all the histories, romance and cultures of the Western world?

I'd really love to see France, Italy, Spain and Japan.
Ah, my dreams are made of these....
