What No One Told Me About Pregnancy

The Obvious:

- can't shop, can't fit into anything

- no life

- fat + ugly

The Not-So-Obvious Bits No One Talks About

1. You feel estranged from your friends, colleagues, other non-pregnant folks.

2. You are constantly tired and 'not-in-the-mood'.

3. Your huge size makes you feel awkward + uncomfortable + conspicuous.

4. Others stare. Rudely.

5. The tummy is a big, heavy load and you get sick of lugging it around.

6. Your face expands accordingly to your belly.

7. It is a sickening chore to apply anti-stretchmark cream every bloody day. It's oily, sticky and makes you feel tubby all over. Plus, it takes forever to be absorbed!

8. You constantly feel warm. Super H-O-T, sticky and dirty 24/7.

9. You have zero social life. + no sports. It is a boring existence.

10. You eat all the time. Everything seems to taste nicer during pregnancy!

The OK Bits
- Baby shopping is truly a pleasure. Somehow, its easy to fall in love with miniature, soft, cuddly, innocent stuff.

- You feel that nothing can ever be more yours than your own baby. Not even your own husband.

- Strangers are nice to you, especially those who have kids.

- You feel that you have something in ur life way more meaningful than work/material comforts/money/friends/relationships etc can ever provide.

- Life has a new meaning and purpose. Your life gets... bigger and is more than about yourself.

- You feel happier about your marriage and your home, to be able to create a small family with your husband. It's meaningful, fulfilling, humbling, enriching, bold and a giant leap forth.
