Qiu's Wedding - 1st July 2007

The sisters' in RED! At 5am in Qiu's house!

The lobby of Amara Sanctuary

The beautiful villa.

Resplendent bride!

Tossing the bouquet....

The lucky receiver of the bouquet - Jas!

Us at Age 26.
4 married, 1 mother of 2, 1 pregnant, 1 engaged.
Qiuli's Wedding was a beautiful, splendid affair on Sunday.
I cannot describe how happy i am for her.
Words fail me.
I'm so glad that it all went so well for her that day,
especially knowing that she & Eric had practically done everyth themselves.
They signed no packages, and sourced for/planned every detail themselves.
Right down to printing their own invites, writing their own vows, briefing the waiters themselves etc etc.
It was seriously A LOT of effort!
The venue Amara Sanctuary was P-E-R-F-E-C-T.
Tranquil, quiet resort tucked away in Sentosa, behind the Tourism Academy, away from the crowded beaches, away from the traffic.
Yes, there are now traffic jams in Sentosa!
So don't ask me how when the IR is completed.
The ballroom was beautiful and so spacious. Beautiful.
The couple enjoyed a villa stay, with its own free/jacuzzi pool and outdoor showers.
The villa comprises 2 'huts' - one is the bedrm, one is the living area.
In the middle is the pool and sunbeds. Totally decadent.
There are also hotel rooms of course, but who will want a normal hotel room when u got those villas??
Their solemnisation was done in a dome-shaped glass pavilion in the resort too.
So it really was quite the perfect setting.
Qiuli wrote her own wedding vow to Eric, which he didn't know about!
It moved him to tears, and her too, and all the rest of us!
It really was very moving, and in all the 13 years I know Qiu, tis only the second time I've seen her cry.
So after a public sobbing session, she tossed the bouquet to the single females.
It was destined--- Jasmine caught it. Ha, that was really funny.
Cos she is the only one in our group yet to get hitched!
And we all know she's so up for marriage anyday!
The banquet started at 830.
Ok, nothing can be perfect. The food & service were crap.
Really really bad.
But theirs is the 1st wedding and 1st major event there, so we all tried to be forgiving.
They were so understaffed it was unbelievable.
Suffice to say, service was so excruciating slow that by (only!) the 2nd dish, everyone was idling, restless and walking about. Made the ballroom look v messy and dishevelled.
Things settled down ard the 5th dish and the dinner finished abt 11.30pm.
PLUS: All the dishes were served cold! Urghh!!!
But all ended well and it was a memorable nite.
For the couple and for us too.
We had loads fun at our table, cos all of us were her closest frens.
We got the 2nd best table after the VIPs and were right smack in the middle, by the aisle.
Qiu & Eric's speeches were very moving too, and their videos were topnotch!
Tis the first time I attended a wedding with the gals.
Shanmei's wedding - she didn't invite everyone, only me + Mel.
My wedding - i wasn't sitting there w them.
So tis time was really fun, to be involved right at 5am in the morning and be part of the troupe!
I really am super happie for Qiu + Eric.
After 7 long years and endless ups/downs, they finally tied the knot.
God bless their marriage forever.
