2010 Resolutions

I'm a lil late in the resolutions thing.. for 2010.
But after some heavy dreamin' last nite, which kinda woke up in a slight jolt, i've thought about the real resolutions i wanna make.
Screw the "i will exercise more" or "must learn XXX virtues" crap.
Here's what i REALLY REALLY wanna do these 355 days left into this glorious year.

1. Learn to cook rice proper, in the rice cooker. Put that damn thing to good use, instead of always secretly buying rice for 50cents at the hawker.

2. Try hot yoga. And see if i enjoy contorting myself into weird angles at 40 degrees.

3. Lose that flabby 5kg and make sure i can fit into EVERYTHING of my vast wardrobe. Until then, no more clothes.

4. Dress up more, just because. Because I can. And more importantly, because i'm still young enough to do that - 1 year shy of 30!

5. Go to H&M in HK / Tokyo and shop till my wallet drops, for once.

6. See G. Talk to him.

7. Quit my job. At some point.

8. Save enough before i quit.

9. Look after myself - face serum every night, cell cream, olive oil on hair, the works... Remember, it's all downhill from here. Looks don't lie.

10. Continue to indulge in Scrapbook therapy - it's more time-consuming and cheaper.

Pre-school

It's been a most fulfilling week.
First week of 2010 - Marco has settled relatively ok into nursery pre-school.
I don't really know how much he is enjoying it, but there's been no tantrums, no crying and he seems to have found a new pal in his teacher.
I'll observe further over this month, and will only rest all doubts after more time.
But for now, he is ok and doing fine.

Thank you Lord, for blessing this icky transition period.
And for showering my lil boy with your blessings.
May he thrive on your watch.

2009

Here's looking at 2009, what i've done & completed & tucked away nicely:

- have maintained all friendships that i meant to. In fact, have gotten closer with the ones that really matter

- seen 2-3 great pals got married, and joined in their big day

- moved to a lovely apartment and made new friends

- Brought Marco to Perth, truly enjoyable and a breath of fresh air, even if he fell sick midway

- Hosted some home parties and dinners, of which makes me very happy. I just love people gathering at home, over food and kids

- Went back to full-time work in August

- Managed to save a tidy sum and most importantly, stay debt-free

- Purged myself of my crazy, ridiculous, obsessive impulse-shopping streak. gone. i am now a thrift/cheapskate.

- Tripled my shoe collection

- Read and read and read many great books, some life-changing

- Survived without domestic help for 6 months now... incredible

- Found a nice pre-school for Marco in the vicinity
